How WFSim works, why its numbers can be checked, and what it counts. WFSim is a free, open-source Warframe calculator, AGPL-3.0.

Every hit counts.

Builder, simulator, optimizer.

Void Fissures

Read from DE's world state each minute. China's own servers are not covered.

Support WFSim

A Warframe calculator built to match the game, checked against in-game measurements item by item. The calculator is free for everyone, and the same for everyone.

It does not score an opening state. It runs the fight — every ramp, every reload, every status that had to land before the damage depending on it — and reports what happened.

How it works

  • How much of a grenade's damage was the impact and how much was the cloud it left behind is something the fight works out. It is not a ratio you type in.
  • A mod that stacks on kill starts the fight at zero stacks. It builds during the fight, expires, and decays — so the build's own numbers change while you are shooting.
  • How many Forma a build needs is computed, and so is whether it fits in the weapon at all.

How to check it

  • Every formula in the engine cites its source — a wiki page, a datamine, or a measurement — and every golden test is calibrated against a real in-game run.
  • What it cannot model is stated on the card concerned: a weapon, an evolution, a mod, an arcane, an enemy.
  • Where the game does something its card does not say, it follows the game and says so — a hotfix could change that number.
  • Where your in-game measurement disagrees with it, the measurement wins.

The calculator is the same for everyone

  • Building, simulating and optimizing are the same for everyone. This is AGPL-3.0: the engine, the game data and the wasm are public, and you can run your own copy.
  • What you have run here stays in your own browser. What the site counts, and how to turn it off, is at the foot of this page.

What is counted

WFSim counts what gets used — which pages open, whether a build was computed, a simulation or a search started and finished, whether Nona was opened, asked something or set to concise mode (never what was asked), whether the page itself failed (the kind of failure and where in WFSim's own code, never its text), a board build opened, a link shared and from which part of the page, how many presets and customs are saved, whether you are signed in (never which account) — under a random id this browser keeps. The count records no IP address and sets no cookie, and the id is not linked to anything that identifies you. With Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track on, nothing is sent. Per weapon, how many people ran a simulation or a search each day is added up and shown on the home page as its popularity ranking — totals only.

It also counts what kind of device opens it, in broad classes only — touch or mouse, a narrow or wide screen, how many processor cores in a few steps, whether it is inside WeChat or QQ — never the model or the browser, whether computing for the board carries on with the page out of sight, and, once a day, how long a small public file takes to load directly and through WFSim's Hong Kong relay.

Each count is kept under this id for 90 days; after that only daily totals that name no one remain. The id is replaced after 13 months.

This browser's id: —

A riven gain link, opened from a chat with Nona, runs the search in your browser and sends its builds to the board without asking — that is what the link is for. It keeps the build it found and, only if you type one, a name, which Nona posts in the chat to thank you; both are deleted a day later.

Stance
A stance decides what the weapon actually swings: it publishes a combo per mode, and installing one replaces the weapon's own. It also GRANTS capacity instead of costing it — 10 on a slot of its own polarity, 5 on a bare one, 4 on the wrong colour.
Exilus
A polarity can be swapped between this slot and a main one — the slot stays Exilus. So its polarity counts toward any build, even one that leaves it empty.

1 · The fight who you are shooting at, where, and for how long

2 · External bonuses what the wielder is doing, and what others hand them — a ticked number replaces the wielder's own

3 · Limits what this run is allowed to assume

4 · Buffs the stacks the run STARTS with — the fight still grants and decays them on their own triggers

5 · Extra stats anything this weapon is handed from outside its build — it lands in the same bucket a mod would

6 · Warframe buffs abilities cast on this weapon — set your Ability Strength and the values follow

7 · Measure what to read off the run — the scenario's own term, so an official ruler pins it

Aura
An aura hands capacity back instead of costing it: twice its drain on its own polarity, 80% of it rounded down on another. A polarity moves between all ten slots, the aura's included.

Nothing a companion seats moves a weapon's numbers yet: no robotic weapon reads its wielder's stats, and no precept is run. What this answers is capacity and Forma.

Operator

Only the active school's nodes apply. A node that needs an Operator action counts only when you say it is running.
